Welcome to the Rx. MrNiss99. I hope you find your stay here fun and profitable. A great poker book (among many) is CHAMPIONSHIP HOLD'EM
by McEvoy, Tom & T.J. Cloutier you can get it at The Gamblers Book Shop on line.

This is not the ordinary garden-variety poker book - this is powerful stuff! It's hold'em the way it's played today in both cash games and tournaments. Limit hold'em has changed dramatically during the past decade. Here is the best advice of two world champions on how to adjust to the new brand of hold'em. Written in the easy-to-read conversational style that McEvoy & Cloutier are famous for, Championship Hold'em is the only hold'em poker book that gives you the latest strategies for winning in both limit hold'em cash games and tournaments. What a bonus! You will learn important adjustments in strategy to help you win more money in rammin'-jammin' games, kill-pot, jackpot, shorthanded, and other types of cash games. The authors take you through the thinking process before the flop, on the flop, on the turn, and at the river with specific suggestions for what to do when either good or bad things happen. McEvoy & Cloutier give you the inside scoop on limit-hold'em tournament strategies that have led them to hundreds of final tables - plus 20 illustrated hands with play-by-play analyses for various situations.

Click on the link and enter the shop - then click on poker.

Two pieces of advice: 1. Don't buy anything written by Ken Warren; his advice will cost you money. 2. The books published by Two Plus Two are all worth the money. Best of luck to you; poker is a hobby that can last a lifetime.

Like golf except you can wear the shoes indoors.

Super System 2 is known as the bible of poker... It's a great read...

They are giving away super sytem 2 by Doyle Brunson at www.doylesroom.com

all you need is 10,000 action points and they will send it to you. However, I will be using my action points for freeroll tournaments

I received roughly 4500 action points for roughly 7-8 hours total play on the 0.25-0.50 nl tables. Been playing tournaments lately and haven't received as many points since. I am at 7000 now

there are some old threads here at the rx that have scores of books listed. If you do a search, try offshore too, because it may have been before they had a poker room here.

Mr Niss
welcome to the rx, you will find a wealth of info regarding ANYTHING here and many willing posters to help you find it.
